21 Day Vegan Kickstart--for a healthy New Year

Happy New Year! Like many, I am in resolution mode with a long list of fitness goals I am hoping to achieve. New Year's resolutions have become something of a joke for many, as quickly forgotten as they are made. But consider this: never in our history have we--as a society--been faced with worse health in spite of amazing advances in medical science. Which makes it incredibly important to take advantage of the clean slate that comes with the start of the year and make an extreme effort to stick with our healthy resolutions and/or help someone else with theirs.  With luck and some effort, 2013 will be the year we meet all of our fitness and wellness goals.

Towards that end, I am attaching a link to the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine's 21 Day Vegan Kickstart, a free daily e-mail you can receive filled with menus, recipes, nutrition information, videos, and more. (And by the way, the Kickstart isn’t just for beginners…it’s a great way to pick up some simple and delicious recipes!) If you don't think a Vegan lifestyle is for you, perhaps a meat free day during the week will be easier with the help of the website.

If you think you might be willing to test drive the vegan lifestyle, there are some compelling reasons to do so. It can help you lose weight (which may be your New Year’s resolution), and it can also empower you to dramatically reduce your risk for diabetes, cancer, and other food-related illnesses.

Today is Day One...please pass on the website to any and all you think might benefit:
